Plantar Cover with a U
When should it be used?
If your patient requires a certain spot on the ball of their foot offloading then consider using a plantar cover with a U.
1 First Steps
Cut a piece of semi compressed felt to a shape that will fit nicely on the ball of the foot.
It should cover the ball of the foot and be shaped around the base of the toes.

3 Cutting the U Shape
Where you cut the U shape will depend on the location of the lesion on the foot.
In the demonstration a U shape is cut as if the patient had a lesion on the third metatarsal head.
